DR. ABIGAIL LEAVITT LABELLA BIO

So much more than ATCG

I am a geneticists that uses large genetic and genomic datasets to answer biological questions across the tree of life. I have worked with deep-sea creatures, fungi and humans. While these organisms may seem unrelated, on genetic level we are more similar to each other than we are to all bacteria!

POPULATION GENOMICS IN DEEP-SEA MOLLUSCS

How do microscopic larvae travel around the bottom of the ocean only to land on a tiny patch of habitable seabottom? Genetics can help us answer these questions.
